For generations, Dance Fusion Studios has been a place where dancers discover their passion, build confidence, and learn the joy of performing.

Our story began in the Reading area in the 1930s with Marie Shaw, whose vision established a dance school that would become an important part of the local performing arts community. The tradition continued through her son, John W. Kalina Jr., who began dancing at just three years old, started teaching as a teenager, and eventually became the owner and director of the school in 1982.

Under John's leadership, the Marie Shaw School of Dance continued its tradition of developing well-rounded performers through training in tap, jazz, ballet, acrobatics, musical theater, and more. Generations of students went on to perform professionally on Broadway, national tours, television, cruise ships, in Las Vegas and Atlantic City, and on stages throughout the country. Many others discovered a lifelong love of dance and went on to become teachers, choreographers, and mentors themselves.

Today, that legacy continues through Dance Fusion Studios, under the leadership of Grace and Megan Kalina. While our name and the world of dance have evolved, our commitment remains the same: to provide quality training, nurture individuality, and give every dancer the opportunity to grow both on and off the stage.

From Marie Shaw's original vision to the dancers of today, our history is built on generations of teachers, performers, families, and students who have made Dance Fusion more than a studio.

It is a legacy. It is a community. And it is a love of dance that continues to move forward.
